HOW TO STAY GROUNDED IN A FAST-PACED WORLD

Having a balanced mindset in this fast, stress-filled time is a gift. We are facing tons of information in the palm of our hands that many of us cannot withstand, and if we don’t act, our energy and overall health can be affected in the long term.

We wanted to share some of our top practices that might help you to stay grounded and uplifted. They are super easy, and you can even try them in the comfort of your home.

CHOOSE GRATITUDE

Times are uncertain. We don’t know whether the future will be brighter, and this can affect many of us. A way to avoid negative thoughts can be to carry a gratitude journal with you. Set up a daily reminder on your phone and simply write what are you grateful for. It can be on paper, or even on your phone.

If you are not so sure what you are grateful for, you can also write what good thing happened to you today. It can be that you ate the most amazing food or received a message from someone you missed. The possibilities are endless!

DEEP BREATHING

Raise your hand if you heard of meditation to make you feel good. We bet your hand is up. Whilst this is true, not many of us know how to begin this practice. So, before you get overwhelmed with the thought of meditation (The irony of this sentence is real) you can start by practicing short, deep breaths, especially when you are facing difficulties (like being in a huge crowd). This will help you to step back a little bit and stabilize your emotions. Practice from time to time until you feel that you are ready to introduce meditation into your life.

MOVE AROUND

It’s incredible what moving can do for us but staying 100% active on these colder days are a bit harder. So instead, try to shift your mind by embracing the little daily efforts. Walking 15 minutes daily can improve your quality of life for years. Stretching in the morning will help your flexibility and posture. Dancing to your favorite song will boost your mood for the remaining of the day. When you feel you can do a little bit more, try more activities like a bike trip outdoors with friends, or join a yoga or workout class. Your body and mind will thank you for your efforts.

COLLECT POSITIVITY

Collecting positivism can bring you back to the present with a different perspective, especially during difficult times. This positivity can come from everywhere, everything, and everyone. Print a photo of a good memory and keep it close to you, read affirmations between your day, and listen to upbeat music while you work … anything is valid! We love to bring happiness to your life, so we are doing our little part in our labels. Just take a closer look at your ragwear piece, and you’ll find a nice reminder of the goodness of the world.
