Leaving no one behind

Today, 25 September, the Sustainable Development Goals celebrate their anniversary. Perhaps you already know what that is?

“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one…”, Shakira sang at the opening ceremony of the UN summit in New York four years ago. Everyone was dreaming the same dream: At the three-day summit, the 193 current member states unanimously adopted the 17 goals for sustainable development worldwide. The so-called Sustainable Development Goals are not just about the environment. In addition to the ecological aspects, the United Nations’ goals also include economic and social aspects under the term sustainability. There are three main targets to be achieved before 2030: poverty and hunger are to be eradicated, all children should be able to go to school and inequality is to be combated, among other things. And of course, our Earth and environment should also be better protected, because it is our living space.

We are committed to achieving these goals by integrating environmentally conscious and socially acceptable standards into our production. Starting with the organic cotton that we have been using for our collections since 2015, packaging alternatives for plastics and our “PETA-Approved Vegan” certification – we want a fairer fashion industry and we are continuously working towards more sustainable solutions. John Lennon’s song “Imagine”, with which Shakira opened the summit, contains the line “Imagine all the people sharing all the world”. With the Sustainable Development Goals we come one step closer to this.
